Production of the ID.4 Moved to the VW Chattanooga Factory

The Passat, which had been built in the VW Chattanooga factory, was discontinued in 2022. In its place, production of the all-electric VW ID.4 was moved to Chattanooga earlier this year with the first pre-production examples already rolling out. In fact, the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN is being equipped to be the North American home of VW electric vehicle production. The company will expand its electric offerings with the upcoming ID.6 and ID.8.
